Prima/seconda volta behaving oddly.
Hello,
I wrote down a very simple and short song (see attachment) which has a primo/seconda volta repeat in it.
"Play repeats" is enabled, by the way, I use MS 4.4.4 on Windows 11.
The strange thing is, MS starts playing the piece, comes to 1., repeats, repeats at 1. again and then goes to 2. and finishes, while it should ignore 1. on the second time through.
Any suggestions, please?
Thank you in advance.

You applied the volta wrongly, just visually dragged it to cover 2 measures
Your volta 1 has been dragged to extend it to cover two measures bars but that only has visual effect. The "handles" are still attached only to the final bar.
To have a two measure volta you need to either
a) select the measures you want it to include before adding it by clicking on the volta in the pallet
or
b) add it to a single measure and extend it by selecting the "handle" that you want to move and use SHIFT + Arrow to move it one measure at a time.
Using method b) from you current situation select the left handle and use CTRL+Left Arrow. You probably want to select the measure and use CTRL+R to put the volta back to its default position first.

Thank you very much for your help, gentlemen.
That solved it for me.
Very much obliged.
Kind regards.
Please set to volta correctly! Do not drag the volta boundaries, but mark measures 7 and 8 before setting the volta
Otherwise measure 7 is played twice, as it lies outside the volta.
