Dynamics Not Working?
Since the last few days or so, the dynamics have randomly stopped working. No matter what dynamic I place on certain instruments, the resulting sound is the same. Sometimes, the dynamic will kick in for the downbeat of the measure after the measure the dynamic is placed in, but immediately revert to Mezzo Forte, which I assume is the default.

Are you working with imported MIDI files? If so, you need to select all notes and reset their "velocity" in the Inspector in order for dynamics to take effect.

Thank you very much Isaac. I was searching around for why my dynamics weren't working and you had the answer I'd been looking for. I had indeed imported a MIDI file and needed to reset their velocity. Thank you.

Wow thank you, it helped me too!
If that doesn't solve it, please post the specific score you are having trouble with and describe precisely how to reproduce the problem.

The dynamics simply fail to make a difference in the Viola and Violin parts, specifically, as I just tested. I played a few parts, and tried attaching Fortissimo to them. The difference was astounding, with an explosion in my ears. I then tried to change the Viola part, since it is a solo, so it could be louder... and nothing happened. I attached a Piano to a Violin part, and it was still too loud. Softer dynamics than that had no effect, either.
I do not know how to replicate this problem, but I would hope it can still be figured out.
Oh, the French Horn dynamics are off, too. Some different beats are a LOT louder than the rest of the beats, creating unwanted emphasis.

It's exactly as I said. Click on one of those notes in the viola part, scroll down in the Inspector, and you'll see it has set velocity of 72. Solution: select one note, right-click, Select All Similar Elements, set velocity to offset (not user) and zero.

Oh, okay. I tried what you recommended at first, but when I did it, I noticed it messed every note up as I scrolled down to velocity, so I stopped there. It messed up like that because our "mouse wheel" is touch sensitive and sometimes goes off on the wrong things, like the drop boxes instead of the scroll bar.
That fixed it immediately. Thank you!!

Yeah, it's a weird thing that some dropdowns in MuseScore behave that way. It's caused problems for me in the Mixer, and I've been meaning to file a bug report for the longest time.
Anyway, you're welcome!

See #39171: Some dropdown menus (e.g., in Mixer) start scrolling through options when mouse passes over them while scrolling. I still wonder about standards, but this is indeed starting to feel more like a bug to me as well.

+1 on that. I have had an instrument's sounds change on me more than once while trying to scroll down through the mixer to get to another instrument. Seems to me that once the drop-down is closed by clicking on the new selection, it should require a new mouse click to allow scrolling through the list.
I don't know if it's a bug or a UI design oversight, but it's a problem either way.
