Playback question
Does anyone know if, when in playback mode, you can mute certain voices so only chosen voices can be played back? For example, I have a choral score and I only want to hear the alto and tenor alone and not the rest of the score. Or I only want to hear the top hand of the accompanyment and not the voices or left hand. It would be nice to be able to select different parts for playback.

Have you tried using 'Solo' in the mixer?

I haven't found any way to do this from a full score. However, if you use Part Extraction, you can listen to only one part at a time. Steps are:
File/Parts/New All/OK
You should then have separate scores for each individual part in your piece.
This won't work if you want to listen to more than one part at a time, though. Is that what you want?

See the response above. No need to generate parts just to solo a staff - that's what the Mixer is for. From the main score, View / Mixer, then enabled the "Solo" button for each staff you want to hear (or "Mute" for each you *don't* want to hear).
As others have said, when the different parts are in different staves you can control their individual volumes via the Mixer, allowing you to mute or solo a few at a time. However, when multiple parts are combined into different "voices" in a single staff you cannot control them independently via the Mixer.

Huh, that's cool. I'd never seen that before. :)
