Cannot delete rest
Hi all.
Quite rightly there should be a quarter rest here.
I cannot seem to be able to delete the half rest.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you attach the actual MSCZ with the problem, not just a picture of it? Otherwise, it's impossible to guess what's going on.

Gladly.
Thanks.

MIDI import side effects (I exchanged the voices 2/1)

Thanks.
Where should I have clicked to fix this?
For example, in the file you posted, bar 13 and 15 the half rest is still there and cannot be delete.
Maybe you could let me know the steps to correct this.
Thanks.

You have more then one voices in the same stave.
First of all it is impossible to delete rests in a voice one, only in voice two, three or four.
Steps to correct them are for example in the score you've uploaded:
Select a bar/measure, press ctrl+shift+end to select the whole stave.
Choose in the menu edit->voices->exchange voice 1-2
Select a rest in voice 2, click right and choose select->all similar elements in the same stave
delete
Select a bar/measure with voice 1 and 3, choose in the menu edit->voices->exchange voice 1-3
select the rest in voice 3, delete them and so on
Btw: there are rests in the stave of the treble clef from more than one voice and if the voices are neccessary (I didn't check them), it is able to deselect the checkbox visible in the inspector (concerning some rests).
Thanks.
Out of interest, how could you see there was more than 1 voice?

It is pretty obvious from the picture in #1. Either voices (and deleted non-voice 1 rests) or corruption.
And looking at the score, selecting a measure, shows the colors (blue and green), so it is voices (1 and 2)

Please find attached the file again.
I tried doing what had been suggested.
1) Select the whole staff
2) Exchange voices
3) Delete the rests.
Doing that just makes things worse.
Out of interest, what exactly does "Exchnge Voices" do?
Any help would be appreciated.

Exchange Voice does just what it says - it exhcange the two voices. So, "Exchange Voice 1-2 takes everything in voice 1 and mvoes it to voice 2, while simultaneously moving everything from voice 2 into 1".
Your problem was that the notes hadf been mistakenly entered into voice 1, with rests in voice 1, and you can't delete voice 1 rests. So the exchange moves the notes into voice 1 where they should have been in the first palce, and the rests into voice 2, where they can now be deleted.
The trick is to find which notes are in the wrong voice. Most liekly you selected measures where the notes were already in teh right voice. Or, measures in which some voices were in one voice but others were in another. Those measures will need to be fixed up manually. In some cases, selecting *just* the voice 2 notes and then pressing the voice 1 button on the main toolbar will do the job, but only if voice 1 contains only rests or rhythmically compatible notes in those places.
Simply click on the rest then click the '5' key, then insert notes.
How to delete rests which are there by mistake and won’t delete in MuseScore as shown in your music staff picture. (Step 1) Click the bar that undeleteable rest sits in, (Step 2) to select that bar, press shift + right arrow up until it selects that bar’s treble clef and bass clef, (Step 3) press delete. I followed this type of method which deleted an undeleteable rest for me in MuseScore. But unfortunately that method deleted all notation in the bar I deleted an undeleteable rest from in MuseScore.
