Inserting a repeat
Hi all.
The manual says: "Drag the repeat symbol from the palette..."
Hmmm.
I don't see a repeat symbol.

The tool tip is showing "Repeat Measure Sign".
For me, a repeat symbol is 2 vertical lines with 2 dots to the right.
A "repeat bar" or "repeat measure" is for repeating just 1 bar.
But what about repeating whole sections?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's under the "Barlines" menu. Really, not very intuitive. A repeat should be under the "Repeats" heading. Maybe something that should be corrected.

You can customize the repeats palette to include start and end repeat barlines.

And, for the next version of MuseScore, they'll be there in the palette by default: #112611: Add repeat barlines to Repeats & Jumps palette as well as Barlines :-)
