Rests
When Putting in more than one rest, on a normal sheet of music its a thick black line with a number of how many measures the rests last. How do i apply this to my music.
And also how do i get rid of the rests that are automatically on the music when i start?

Press M to turn on multimeasure rests (though wait till you're done with the notes). To get rid of the rests that are there when you start, put note in!

Thank you so much too!
In normal use, you would start by entering music for the full score, and you would simply leave empty measures empty. When you are done entering the score, you would generate parts, and those multimeasure rests are cretaed automatically. So you don't normally need to worry about it at all.
If on the other hand you are for some reaosn *not* planning to enter the full score but are only entering a single part, then simply leave the measures empty and then when you are done you can press "M" to automatically convert them to multimeasure rests.
The full measures rests that are present when you start are replaced when you enter notes - you don't need to do anything to get rid of them. Just start entering notes and the rests go away.

Thank you so much!
Have you looked at the start-up videos available for using Musescore? A lot of the basic information you need to use the program is contained in this series of videos .

I watched and i found where my problem is. Im trying to put in a note where a rest is and it will not let me. What i am trying to do is what he is doing at 1:47 and after. When i try to do it just as he says nothing happens.

Make sure you are in Note Entry mode when you are trying to enter notes. Click on the big 'N' in the toolbar, or type N to toggle between Entry Mode and Edit Mode.

If you continue to have trouble after watching the videos and reading the Handbook, please attach the score you having trouble with and describe exactly what you are trying to do and how you are trying to do it - it will be easier to help if we know exactly what is going on.
