Brackets
Most of my composition is for concert band and orchestra. I often use split parts. In particular, I am trying to write a song in which I have two clarinet staves (1st ; 2nd and 3rd). I would like to have "B(flat) Clarinets" at the point of the brace (like a piano part, which can be achieved by just adding a staff on the Instruments screen), and then have "1" on the first staff, and "2 and 3" on the second. I guess my real request is to be able to write a Part name (like "Piano—for two or more staves, as long as they are in the same tab, like the two staves of piano), and then a staff name (like "1" or "2"). I would just use the "Insert Text" and move it to where I want it, but I'd have to do that on every page, and that's a hassle.

Good call. I think there are probably a number of features associated with this type of staff grouping that would be nice to see, and perhaps it couldbe useful to brainstorm on this a bit. But the starting point is definitely a facility for naming the group and the staves separately. There should be a separate "group name" text style, and it should be understood that staff names within a group might be displayed differently from ungrouped staves (eg, in a smaller font, and more above or below than to the left, to keep focus on the group name).
