Changing melody lines to 8va after written to be played an octave lower
Hello,
I created a four page piano score that was initially meant to be played as written. Now I want all the melody/treble clef lines to be played 8va (except for the 4 intro measures) without adding ledger lines. I would like MuseScore to play my score back as 8va and not "as written" which is now an octave lower.
Aside from inserting the 8va sign, then double clicking on it, and then using the shift arrow keys to stretch the 8va one line at a time, is there another way to accomplish this? When I have tried this method and come to the end of a line, the 8va does not continue to the next line but rather crosses over to the same line on the next page.
I have not be able to find this answer in a preexisting forum question so your assistance would be most appreciated.
Thank you.

Click the measure you want the 8va to start, shift-click the measure you want it to end, double-click the 8va line in the palette

I must have been using a corrupted version of my score because "shift, then arrow" worked for me this morning after trying it on an earlier version of my score.
Thanks again!
Shift+arrow should work, though, and does for me. Be sure you continue to hold the Shift key the whole time; it isn't enough to just press it and release before pressing the arrow key. If you are having trouble with that method, feel attach the score you are having trouble with and the steps you are following.

If this is the case, "Aside from inserting the 8va sign, then double clicking on it, and then using the shift arrow keys to stretch the 8va one line at a time, is there another way to accomplish this? As mentioned, please attach your score (not a pdf) so we can examine it.
