BPM is not equal to metronome in 6/8 in play panel
In 6/8 the metronome function of the play panel ticks twice per measure => ok.
But the BPM is in quarter (3 per measure) beats per minute, and instead of that it should follow the metronome which is correct.
Or is this a setting to change?

BPM is by definition quarter notes per minute in internally in MuseScore (and the MIDI Standard).

Reading the issue, I find that quarter per minute is the internal way of Musescore to measure speed (and it follows midi standard is said in the issue).
No problem with that.
BUT that this internal way to measure time is also used in the interface doesn't make sense.
The best way to undertand that is to compare to the metronome implementation of the play panel:
who would agree that this metronome ticks by quarter in 6/8 ??

That's why we have an open issue about it.

Ok thanks.
As the comments in the issue are: "would complicate MuseScore" and "is possibly not advisable" I was thinking that giving some reason for this change was necessary.
The last comment however is good news:
"I implemented a conversion ... just needs to be hooked up to the Play Panel."
Thanks for that then and long live Musescore 3.0
