sustain pedal
how can I apply a sustain marking for only a part of the measure? is it possible to do the same with higher\lower octave markings and crescendo\decrescendo markings?

select a range of notes: click first, shift+click last, then apply pedal, ottava, hairpin...
After the fact:: double click the line and shift+left/right to move the anchors using their handles

If you want to apply it to a single note (more applicable to 8va, cres. etc.) click the note you want to apply it to and ctrl-click the next note, otherwise it will apply it to the end of the measure or the end of the next note (if you use shift-click).
