Copyright TimeStamp -- Possible additional revenue for site

• Nov 27, 2016 - 20:25

You should add a feature to allow a digital timestamp of all Compositions uploaded.
And charge .99 for the feature.
A digital copyright.
Your MuseScore.com site is the key to your success.... (which obviously supplements the amazing program)
But I would seriously consider adding this feature.
It can bring in revenue, and will be utilized.

I still think its a good idea.
It is just a digital timestamp for your uploaded work...
I mean technically it is copyrighted anyway.
But I think it is a good money grab.
You offer the same service as copyrighted.com.

Actually you know whats better, you bundle this in as a PRO feature.
Forget the .99 it isn added Pro bonus if you sign up.

You already get the uploaded timestamp, even as a free user! It is shown under the Info on the righthand side of the site. Legally speaking (at least for Belgium copyright law, which is the only one I'm enough acquainted with to make any statements) this is of identical value.
It's a publication date that can be confirmed by a third party.

According to Belgian Copyright Law (and I've gathered most copyright laws) each original work is copyrighted by law. That law doesn't require you to take any action at all other than creating the work.

Now when it comes to enforcing your rights, you need to be able to show evidence that you have created the work. And if someone disputes your copyright, a publication date can help.
Also note that (for Belgian Copyright Law) registering your work on a site like copyrighted.com only counts as circumstantial evidence, as digital timestamps are not yet recognized as a legal dating mechanism here.
