Temporary Instrument Changes
How do i change the instrument for a couple of bars on one part without changing the whole instrument. For example, i am writing an electric synthesizer part and want it to sound like a synth until measure 31 where i would like it to sound like a piano until measure 50. And then at 50 back to synth again. i did not thin this was possible until i saw somebodys score online and downloaded it and apparently they had figured it out.

Yes, it's possible, and quite simple actually. See the Handbook under "Mid-staff instrument changes".
In French......Clic on the note you want the change, go to the little "palette" at the bottom TEXT, after INSTRUMENT, double click and the word "Instrument "appears upon the note. After, right click on the word at the bottom change instrument and you choose
