Add an insert->Image menu entry which will open a file dialog box.
Then the user will be able to select an image to be inserted into the score.
Today, only the drag and drop of an image is supported which means that I need a thirdparty application to insert an image into musescore.

I can just drag a .jpg from an explorer window into MuseSore, no 3rd party software needed, unless you call an integral part of the OS (Win XP here) 3rd party software?
A file explorer is a thirdparty application.
This behavior is not very intuitive.

This is solved for MuseScore 2.0 (trunk)
Sorry, but where is this menu in musescore trunk ?
I can't see it.

Right-click on a vertical or horizontal box: Select "Add / Picture"

i think it is better if we can attach a picture to a note or anything just with the menu.
so far we need to drag a picture to a note to attach to it.

I agree. Not very intuitive but Thanks to Miwarre for the answer that I was looking for as well! Based on this and other posts, I'd say that Jojo-Schmitz has 'rude and arrogant' down to a fine art. The antithesis of useful technical support. It's a shame to see support for a great tool such as MuseScore reduced to this.
I beg your pardon?
I would say someone's having a bad day. This is the second bizarre comment like this from this user. I wonder is his account got hacked?
