A question for anyone fluent in Russian/Cyrillic
I'm putting Igor's aria from Act II of Borodin's "Prince Igor" into MuseScore. There is one area where a word (or maybe two words) is broken into two syllables (or another word) across two notes, but none of the scores (I have 3 versions) show where the break should happen; the letters are all just bunched together. I would certainly like to get it correct.
The attached png is from one of the scores, and shows the area of concern.
If it helps, here is the complete phrase, with the word (and the single obvious "-") at the end of the phrase:
и Божья знаменья угрозу п бранной славы пиръ весёлый, мою побѣду надъ врагомъ,
и бранной славы горестный конецъ, погромъ, и рану, и мой плѣнъ, и гибель всѣхъ моихъ полковъ,
честно, за родину головы ***сло-жившихъ***.
I tried numerous on-line Russian->English translators, breaking the word down into smaller sections or leaving it completely intact; none of them provide a translation of the whole, or any part, of the word, that makes any sense. (Other than a phonetic pronunciation attempt.)
The draft of the MuseScore score is also attached. (Still needs lots of work, but all the notes & lyrics are there.) Measure 55 has the word/words in question.
Thanks very much,

I consulted a native Russian speaker, whose advice is:
"General rule there is that the hyphen must be followed by a consonant."
Below is a screenshot with how the hyphenation should fall for bars 54-55.

Thanks very much! This is exactly the info that I was looking for. Please pass my thanks on to your friend,
My Russian friend just added to his earlier advice about hyphenation, as follows:
I remembered one more rule – that the last token must be a full syllable. I then searched for the whole set of rules and found that there’s a lot more than I thought: syllables.ru/rules.html.
The link is to a page in Russian, but I'm sure that Google Translate can help...

Thanks, this was very helpful, especially the link (which translated to english without too much loss of meaning).
I tried to respond some days ago, but kept having technical problems, apologies.
