Text frame doesn't adjust its size

I needed to add some text from Wikipedia at the end of a score. I went through the handbook and created a text frame at the end of the score where I pasted the text.
1) The frame doesn't adjust to the text, which just stays on a single line and goes off the page.
2) I get no handles whatsoever on the text box, which is expected to happen vertically but not on the sides, am I right?

I imported the score from an ABC file, I don't know if that could have had anything to do with it. I tried typing into the text frame myself and the text still goes beyond the page.
