Transpose completely
I wrote a Trumpet Trio - 3 treble staves in C major. I selected the Concert Key to be Bb. Now I want to transpose the whole trio to different instruments. Is there a way that I can simply select , for example, Flute and have everything I wrote change so the flute players can play it - with or without the trumpet players? I did transpose it up a 7th, but everything I added to the original trio - repeat signs, 1st and 2nd endings, staff text, etc. all had to be fixed.
Also, When I tried to transpose the whole trio to Trombone the clef did not change and it was an 8va too high. I would think that if you have music written for an instrument and yau want another instrument to play it, there would be a quick one or two click process to accomplish this. Am I missing something?

Add the instruments (press 'I')
Copy and paste (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/copy-and-paste#notes ), then select what you want to move up/down and make Arrow Up/Down (Ctrl + Arrow Up/Down for 1 octave)

To change instruments right click anywhere on the staff and select Staff Properties and then change instrument.
As far as correcting the staff is concerned or more precisely the octave it is in, select the entire staff and press ctrl- up (or down) arrow. Select the entire staff by clicking the first note and the press ctrl-shif-end. If the clef is not correct, then either click the first note of the staff and double click the correct clef from the palette or drag the clef to the first measure of the staff.
You obviously did something wrong when you transposed the song - you did it the hard way. If you click anywhere and press ctrl-a you will have the entire score selected. You can then use the menu Notes|Transpose... and the only thing changed should be the notes.
Thanks for responding - and so quickly! So, I had done it - as you say - the "easy way." I experimented by transposing the trumpet trio to a flute trio. But I still had to adjust the length of the 1st and 2nd endings - including one that jumped up to the staff above it- and also, the higher notes were grayed out signifying that the notes were too high, out of trumpet range.
When I lowered all the notes to trombone notes, I had to fix non-note things AND hand change the clef. And again the notes were red - signifying that the notes were too low for trumpet. How come the program does not know to change the clef when trombone is selected? And how come the program doesn't know that the notes are supposed to be for trombone now?
I do know how to fix all of these things. My main question is really, "Is there a quick click porcedure to simply tell the porgram to change this trio to flute? Or to Trombone? Or to Alto Sax? etc.

I'm not having trouble moving the notes. It just takes many, many, tedious steps to transpose my trio to different instruments. I would think it would be a few clicks and done. But I have to move 8vas, adjust staff text and notations, wonder why it keeps telling me the notes are out of range, etc. I would think that if I said to transpose the Trumpet trio to Trombone, it would change the 8va, change the clef, show me that all of the notes are in TBone range, and keep all of my staff notations in place.

When you change a staff to a different instrument, MuseScore adjusts any transpositions needed but otherwise keeps the same pitches - it has no way of knowing you want to make other changes (like raising or lower the pitches an octave). After all, the trombone is perfectly capable of playing *some* of the notes a trumpet can play. Only *you* know how you want to adjust things - MuseScore is not in the artificial intelligence business. So, if you want it all dropped an octave lower, you need to tell MuseScore to do this. Which takes exactly two keystrokes - (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Down).
If you have further difficulties, indeed, please use the Support forum, attach your score, and explain the problem in more detail. But in general, changing instrumentation - including transposition and adjusting clefs or octaves - can be done in about 10 seconds.
