Corrupt demo and template scores?

• Mar 12, 2012 - 15:53

I wonder if a number of demos and templates included with MuseScore maybe corrupt, if they were created in earlier buggier versions. Also certain ones that are only playable in the trunk - something I'm not sure is a good idea because it's still pre-alpha.

Is it easy to re-do them for every version?

Not sure.

The following demo scores display a dialogue box: 'Unable to open score reliably: It was last saved with 0.9.5 or older. You can convert this score by opening and then saving with MuseScore version 1.x'

Estudio-No1-Tarrega
inv6
PlanxtyCarolan
praeludium1
prelude
sarabande-gfh
scales

I don't know what solution should be used, especially if there's a lot of content. If there's nothing different in the scores feature-wise between 1.2 and 2.0, 1.2 or MusicXML might be ideal to redo the demos with (2.0 could be too unstable). It might result in something not being used properly, or an incompatibility with 2.0.

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (5499) - Mac 10.7.3.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but it would be better to wait until we have the all clear from the programming team regarding file format changes.

I have already spent hours working on a demo version of Bach's BWV 565 only to find that it no longer plays back properly because of changes made to the code.

I would hate you to experience the same thing :)
