how to flatten multiple voices to single voice

How can I merge multiple voices in a measure down to a single voice?

The implode facility is one tool you can use, but realistically, if the music uses two voices in the first places, there is a good chance that is because it *cannot* be represented in only a single voice, at least not without losing something. Figuring out what to sacrifice in order to represent polyphonic music in a single voice is more an art than a science, but you might decide some notes don't need to be played at all, others can safely be shortened, or some rhythms simplified so that notes that are currently played at different times get played at the same time instead, etc. Without seeing the particular passage you are concerned with, it's hard to know how to advise, so if you want more help, please attach your score here and describe what you are trying to do in more detail.

I was given a four-clef SATB vocal score and I wanted to condense it down to a two-clef rehearsal piano score. After some searching I found the "exchange voices 1-2" trick to merge S and A into the piano right hand and to merge T and B into the piano left hand. This merged okay except it left stems going up and stems going down, which I think needlessly complicates the pianist's score. The pianist cares about fingers, not voices. Thanks for the "implode" tip, that seems to do what I want.
