V 1.2 will not save file
I have downloaded this (several times) today (with reboots). I am creating a score from scratch and it will not save, save as or save a copy. Getting very frustrated and wishing that I had not updated my software.
I use windows vista and have have used previous versions of musescore successfully before.
Open to suggestions.....

I have just amended and older existing file, and saved it as a test. This saves just fine!!! Go figure.
You are providing a filename??

No - did not get as far as filename on this new save as no save box appears. It is as if I have clicked nothing. It did on the amended file and the filename was amendable too.
...to save in certain folders.

On the new file I do not get the save window up to even get a choice of where to save it just sits and does nothing. Almost as if I had clicked nothing at all. When I did a save as on the older record that I amended and saved as a test the save window appeared and allowed me to rename and save to my documents folder, which is where I always put stuff. Where do you think I need to go to amend this permission for the new file?
Can you try to run MuseScore as administrator?

Good suggestion. Had not thought of that. Right clicked from the icon to open in admin mode. Created new file. went to save and hey preston...............still nothing. No save box, nothing. :-(

Maybe you've stumbled accross #16692: Save and Save As dialogue boxes fail to open when Title contains colon?
In reply to Maybe you've stumbled accross by Jojo-Schmitz
Yeah.............. You are correct. I had a colon in my title on the score. I have successfully saved, without it and all is well in my world.
Thank you, Thank you. Thank you. A bit overboard I know but solving my problem really appreciated.
