2.0.3 for windows has caused my computer to reboot
I am trying to install and use the current version of MuseScore on the
system detailed below. The download and install seemed to go smoothly.
Upon first open of the application, the system failed and it rebooted.
all subsequent attempts at opening MS failed as well. I looked through
the forum and saw similar problems but most were very old. I tried an
earlier version of MS with similar failures. Do you have any
recommendations?

I did these things and did a command line install as admin and still the machine reboots upon startup of MuseScore. Any other suggestions?

check the video card driver (uninstall and reinstall)?
Or try a restore point, It could be a problem of upgrades.

I did the earliest reasonable restore (before my first attempt to install MuseScore) Did a malwarebytes scan, jrt.exe, pc-decrapifier. Got a fresh install of MuseScore 2.0.3. ran the msi as admin. Still the same problem. I will take one last attempt based on your recommendations and then give up. grrrr.

I have given up on the windows 10 cpu.
I did set up an older computer and installed MuseScore on it without difficulty!
Now the fun begins.
