Infinite Loop 1
MuseScore v0.9.5 r1770 WinXP
The following steps send my MuseScore to the infinite CPU and memory place:
1. Start MuseScore;
2. Delete (close) its welcome demo;
3. Create a new score with one voice and two measures;
4. Enter a whole note in each measure;
5. Press escape to get out of any mode;
6. Press Ctrl-B to add a third measure;
7. Holding down Control key, click 3rd, then 2nd measure to select for removal;
8. Press Del key to delete selection.
A pause, an hourglass, then silence.

I'm not able to reproduce this using r.1826, Windows.
Per Thomas' instructions, r.1770 is the latest prerelease I found.
Where is r.1826?
r.1826 is self-built (see Building MuseScore on Windows ). I no longer have r.1770 on my computer otherwise I would have tested using that version.
Thanks, David.
I look forward to joining you cpp'ers but may not have time to setup an environment until next weekend.
I was able to reproduce the bug in r.1770. I double checked r.1827. Apparently it is fixed
