Playback Problems
Hello,
I am a new user of MuseScore, and I just downloaded the program earlier today. I noticed, when playing back files, after about 3 measures of perfect playback, the sound staggers, cracks, slows down, and the cursor gets out of sync. I've tried installing a smaller SoundFont, which didn't help resolve the problem. I've also tried shutting down all other files, which hasn't helped solve the problem. Barring that, I've tried restoring musescore to factory default settings, which hasn't helped. Two reinstalls later, and the problem persists. Does anyone have any advice? I'm using Windows Vista 64-bit.
Thanks!

Try changing the settings of the Reverb on the SYnthesiser page.

Debian Testing repositories right now have MuseScore v 1.2; Build 5470 by deafult.
The problem persists, but the fix also works.
Just reporting. :)
Oh, and thanks again, very much!

Upgrading to 1.3 should fix it too

This still did not help me in any way. I tried pretty much everything already too. Any other ideas? Just so you know I have Windows 8 and I am using Version 1.2

Are tyou saying you have a problem similar to that described by the OP, but changing the Reverb setting in the Synthesizer window (not the Mixer window) didn't fix it?
I'm having this same problem. It's happened on multiple songs. They start as midi imports and then I play with them and save them as a MuseScore file. I worked on this particular project all weekend without a problem, but partway through some edits last night, it started crackling again. I can't figure out what to do. I tried changing things under Synthesizer as suggested with no luck. Help?

Hi lauren-the-flute -
Which version of MuseScore are you running? Changes were made for this problem between 1.2 and 1.3, which is why I'm asking.
Which version of OS are you running?
Yes, a score would be helpful.
Thanks.

I just downloaded 1.3 this evening; I didn't realize this might be a version problem. So far so good! If the problem happens again, I will post the score here. Thanks for answering and making the suggestion :)

It seems you just copied and pasted the ext of the original post from a year ago - did you mean to do that? The bug leading to this was fixed some time ago and indeed was one of the main reasons for the 1.3 release. So that issue shouldn't still be present if you really did just download MuseScore recently.

it's a common technic for a spam bot to "take date". It will come back later to post a lot of links.... marked as spam.

Thanks. I suspected as much, but usually when I see this, there is already one link included.
