Playback does not work properly in linux

When I updated from 1.1 to 1.2 on my dell inspiron 1012 running Ubuntu, I noticed that the sound playback will run for a less than a minute and then go choppy. I tried setting the reverb to 0; however, this did not stop the problem. I have experimented with the i/o settings and that has not worked either. I am sure it is a bug because musescore did not have a choppy playback problem in version 1.1.
