Gong sound in TImbres of Heaven
I know that the defualt soundfont doesn't have a gong sound effect, but does TImbres of Heaven have one?

When in doubt, try it out...
I don't think Gong is part of GM, so chances are no GM Soundfont has it

Yes it does. It's called "gong!!!" (with the exclamation points). It's pretty gorgeous, a real attention getter.

This is not a "Standard" GM / GS / XG sound.
There is no requirement to comply with any non-standard extensions.
in ToH : an extra sound added to the 2nd bank of the patch 120 (Reverse Cymbal). //because of similar sound. (Thanks for this useful, non-standard, usable addition)

Yes, Don Allen while maintaining support for those three standards, put in a lot of other sounds/effects to meet his whims. I really can't recommend his work enough.
