Plugins are written in Javascript, yes. HTML and CSS are not involved. See Plugin Documentation for info on developing plugins for the current release, but be aware things are changing for the next major release.

When do you think the 2.0 version will be available ?
What are going to change in the SDK, more internal librairies to manipulate song/note or more things like Javascript, QT, QML ?
