Corrupted file

I am new to MuseScore and not a professional musician at all. I am trying to create a vocal arrangement for a song and this is the third time I almost had it done and the file keeps getting corrupted. What happens is when I try to open the file, the entire application crashes. It has happened with and without the shape note plug in. The file that is attached was created with the plugin. I almost had something I was proud of and I don't want to have to do it again. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
