Rests and distance

• Mar 28, 2017 - 19:59

Dear Sir,

Please advise on 2 questions that you can see at Attachment - Help8:
1.Deleting rests

2.Make shorter distance between notes and notes and barline?

Thank you.
Best regards,
Mark.

If you wrote this in MuseScore, could you attache the mscz file (to give precise steps for improvements - it's good when you attache the image to visualize your request, but it is better with the mscz file, so we can see more exact what you've done and youcan do)?

Btw: A place for a support request is better here: https://musescore.org/en/forum/6. (Now I'm afraid, you think I would be pedantic ;-).

Your example doesn't really make musical sense, and would make even less sense without the rests. It looks like somehow notes are entered into the wrong voices. Did you enter this yourself, or is it perhaps the result of import from another format? probably easier to re-enter the passage yourself, assuming you have a clear idea of how it actually should look. that is, you need to sort out which notes really belong in which voices. See the Handbook under "Voices" if you don't understand what I mean. Also attach the actual score and any other information you can provide in order to help us understand what you are actually trying to do.

Please do not keep starting new threads to ask further questions about this same topic - just respond here. Otherwise it is very difficult to follow the discussion and offer you help.

As explained in my response above, you have entered notes into the wrong voices. You need to understand how multiple voices work when entering music like this. It is the fact that your notes are in the wrong voices that is the cause of your problems. Please read up on Voices in the Handbook, try to see how it applies to your example, then delete that passage and start over, being careful to enter notes into the proper vocies 9eg, stem up notes into voice 1, stem down notes into voice 2).

This piece is poorly notated (or arranged)*.
Voice part and accompaniment part in same place: Piano RH.
Some unnecessary rests are needed to separate these two.

If Melody and accompaniment clashed, transcriptor has cut some chords.

Probably transcriptor planned that way: Melody part for: voice 1, Piano LH for Voice 2.

Its very simple accompaniment. And score has Chord Symbols. BTW: H=B

my advice:
Move the melody to a new staff
and Fill the gaps in the chords.
