Transposing by some number of scale degrees
Suppose I have a stretch of music each note of which I want to move up or down by some number of scale degrees.
For example, suppose I want to move each note up two scale degrees: a note on a line is moved up to the next line, and a note in a space is moved up to the next space. Then if the key is C major, an A would become a C (raised 3 semitones), and a G would become a B (raised 4 semitones). The Notes-->Transpose feature can transpose all the notes by a fixed number of semitones. But I don't know how to transpose a stretch of notes by some number of scale degrees. I don't think transposing to a different key is what I want either.
How should I do that?

Just select the range and use the up/down arrows to move the selection up/down a semitone at a time.

This has the same restriction
Not that it helps, but see this discussion from just a few hours ago, on the same topic:

Okay, thanks, Marc. I hadn't seen that.

User ChurchOrganist has recently described a method for this transposition on that thread.
