Cannot download new soundfont when running MuseScore 2.1 via AppImage
When I run MuseScore 2.1 via the AppImage and although I have it installed in /user/share/mscore2.1/sound , I cannot find it when I open Synthesizer and click on Add. It simply is not displayed.
But when I run the same MuseScore 2.1 using its normal launch icon and execute the same procedure
it is there.
If you read my previous thread about the shortcut problems you will know the reason why I am now
using AppImage to start MuseScore. My God what a mess.....

You have to download your soundfonts into the MuseScore2/Soundfonts folder of your home directory (~/Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts). This is the correct path.

I don't recommend to save a file outside the home directory without any reason.

I thought that I also had downloaded that soundfont in ~/Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts
but then it did not work, so I moved it to /usr/share/musescore2.1/sound which did not work
also.
So, I tried it the second time and, as you advised, again placed it in ~/Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts. To my very surprise it now does work!
MEA CULPA!!
Thank you for your replies. For some unknown reason, my Tyros 5 will not allow me to make an instrument voice change. The midi in question is actually the ending of style which I wanted to
play long with and be able to read the notation from a pdf file which would have been converted from the midi track. Regards, Bob
