Size of space between staffs too big
I'd like to use a larger staff size, but over-ride the huge distance between staffs created when I make the staff size larger. Is there a way to do that??

Posting a score you are having trouble with always helps. That Handbook page should help, but my guess is that the main parameter you need to be concerned with is the Page Fill Theeshold. I am guessing you had a relatively small amount of space between staves to start with and liked that, but once you icnreased the ataff size, it made the page exceed that threshold, and therefore MuseScore automatically stretched everything out to fill the page. If you don't want that, then turn the Page Fill Threshold up higher.
