A ton of bugs in Nightly.

• May 21, 2013 - 01:01

FIrst off, the Chord Articulation thing is *very* buggy. For one, changes don't appear to take effect. Also, clicking on any note will crash Nightly. Yes, you read that right. Second, the tablature editor will also crash the program if you undo a change with Ctrl+Z. Last but not least, the tablature thing will not change lines other than six.

Please post if you have any workarounds.

As explained everywhere, it's the point of nightlies to be full of bugs, there is a big UNSTABLE splash screen... It's better to post any related to nightly builds on the Technology Preview forum. If you want to report bugs, please mention your Operating System, and the version of the nightly you are using (See Help -> About).

With MuseScore aa8f9879d3 I can't reproduce the crash when clicking on any note. Regarding the "tablature editor" I have no idea what you are talking about... Are you talking about the fretboard diagram? or the tablature staff? In both case, it's possible to have the number of lines/strings you want.

I am aware that Nightly is supposed to have a ton of bugs. I was just saying that I found a ton of bugs. (And as for the tab editor, I meant the staff, and the bug is that it still shows six lines even though there are only 4 working ones.) And this is for the earlier 1db1667 revision so apologies if this has already been fixed (even if unintentionally).

EDIT: In the newest nightly available at this time (5be9488), the audio does not work by default. I had to mess around with the I/O settings... and for some reason Windows DirectSound appeared twice. My soundcard is "Cirrus Logic High Definition Audio" and the driver key is {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0005 if that would help. In this revision, changing the number of strings will actually "suspend and crash" the program with a runtime error. WIthout fail. Though undoing anything to do with the tablature staff no longer crashes the program, and neither does the Chord Articulation window. Though, if you would be so kind, could you tell me how to use the Chord Articulation, because the site is lacking in information about that particular tool.

It's not just your nighty folder you need to clean., On Windows, preferences are kept in \Users\\AppData, then I think it's Local\MuseScore from there but the specifics might be OS-version-specific. I also gave the wrong link for the reset - it's Revert to factory settings .

I generally don't install nightlies as I do my own builds, but I haven't playback problems for a couple of months now. Last time I did, it turned out to be due to an older preferences file, I believe.
