Unable to change staff type
1. Open attached score (produced in 1.3).
2. Right-click stave.
3. 'Staff Properties...'.
4. Click on 'Type:' drop-down list.
Result: Only 'Standard (built-in)' is available.
Discussion: Has the ability to change to Tab been removed accidentally, or perhaps deliberately?
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (599c88d) - Mac 10.7.5.

I am also experiencing this problem, does anyone know if this a known issue or is there something I'm missing?
Assuming that this is true only for scores created with 1.x and that original 2.0 scores behave correctly, then this is rather evident and is deliberate; at least it is an obvious consequence of a change that chen lung himself requested some time ago, i.e. removing from the lists of staff types/presets the non-applicable choices.
In a score from 1.x, instruments have no strings defined then, because of the above, TAB's are not applicable to them.
To gain access to TAB staff type(s), strings have to be added to the instrument, using the "Staff Properties" dlg box in the instrument staff contextual menu (right-click). Once the instrument has strings, TAB's should be available to it.

Miwarre is referring to this topic.
How do you add strings in 'Staff Properties...'?

"Edit string data" at the bottom of the "Staff properties" dlg box.

I think for 1.x scores, there could be less restrictions on changing staff types.
What do you think?

I don't see the need for restricting staff-types anyway.

I wonder: If restrictions aren't placed, could it cause future problems?
