MuseScore Nightly not start under Xubuntu
Dear people,
As a number of weeks (5 weeks or more). If it does not start under XUbubtu me. MuseScore nighty on The program installs it after I unpacked it happens but when I click on the start icon and nothing. No error codes or other messages window.
I have not paid much attention to it because I had MuseScore Nightly and all new updates work fine under Windows. 7 the decision
I had the idea that the earlier versions of MuseScore Nightly worked faster under Ubunu I would still like to have. A working version
I have read several answers about this problem and tried to run but they are for me anyway too vague and unclear to me because I know nothing of programs and who knows how to change.
Do you know a solution?
I work with

I thought that the nightly build I upload to http://prereleases.musescore.org/linux/nightly/ were 32 bits, but they are not.
Checking in a terminal
leleu@leleu-portable ~/musescore/MuseScore/build.release/mscore $ file mscore
mscore: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=0x41a3b67d6e229972d2fe26f47113557b0a833034, not stripped

I investigate next days, to produce 32 bits compiled Nightlies

A short google search brought up this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1272357/how-to-compile-a-32-bit-bina…
I guess the -m32 switch is needed at compile (CFLAGS?) and link time (LDFLAGS?).
But CFLAGS and LDFLAGS are for make, I think, but MuseScore use cmake (for the real build), here the mechanism seems much different?
The above link may show how to do it with cmake, but I can't verify.

On Linux and Windows, cmake will generate makefiles and so under the hood, make

OK, so how to get them to use that -m32 flag in Linux (in Windows it apparently produces a 32bit executable already)?

tried to setup a virtual machine in 32bit and compile there with the required framework and the libraries in 32bit beeing installed?

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the responses to my question. However, there is one point that I do not understand. I use Xubutu 64 bit and I understand from your answer that the Linux Nighty update I made 64 bit. Why Nighty conversion but 32 bit?
Should not we find out why the two programs do not work together?
Fred Paul.
I also think that to put on the same problems the tip MuseScore on a virtual machine encounters.

FredPaul, your original post didn't mention 32-bit or 64-bit, so people were surmising that there was a bit-level incompatibility. Now that it is known that the download and your OS are 64-bit, maybe different troubleshooting can occur.

Sorry guys,
I gave insufficient information about my computer control system
If you still need more information and ask if I know I write it to you.
