I have accidently moved toolbar to vertical from top position and I find it more difficult to use. how can I reset it to the top please! Terry

Just grab it at the handle on top/left and drag into position. If everything breaks see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings

Thank you . I remembered what to do as this has happened before, I clicked on the left of toolbar and it moved easily to the top.
