Instrument name - how to justify

Hi folks,

I'm trying to correctly format instrument names next to staves for an orchestral score. How do I justify the name of an instrument further to the left of the staff? I've attached two screenshots of what I've attempted, and the displeasing result. I've also attached the standard of how I want it too look. You'll notice that there should be more space after the flute name. What I have done in the long and short instrument name editing windows is not reflected in my score.
