Are there linked parts in this score? If so, see #78416: Tempo text oddities in score with linked parts until save/reopen. If this isn't it, please attach the score and provide steps to reproduce the problem.

Sorry, I don't really understand what "text linked" mean.
What I do is, that I create a new sheet and enter, over the first stroke, the bpm value as quarters. Or, I open an old sheet. If I than double click this vault and change it to a lower or higher number nothing happen until I save and reopen the whole program and the sheet. That's my problem. :)

That should work right away, and does for me, MuseScore 2.1, Windows 7

The term I used was "linked parts", not "text linked". That is, if you have a score for several instruments, linked parts are the separate tabs that appear for eachninsteument once you create them. Not.allt you would only create them when done with the score. And there is a known issue where if you try changing the tempo after generating the linked parts, it won't work right away. So I am guessing that is your problem. For now we have to live with this limitation.
Again, if you still need help, we would need you to attach your score in order for us to do more than guess at the peoblem

I don't think the OP uses linked parts.

Hello Marc,
I've been using Musescore since v1 as I put scores in for our orchestra members to practice with. I've been adding 'linked parts' since the beginning. I've always done it at the beginning of putting in the score because i find it easier to manage the different sections. I've never had a problem with the tempo markings until this week. For example, I just entered a piece in for string quartet. The tempo marking is set at 120 bpm. When I start playback the play panel says the tempo is 20 bpm. When i use the slider to increase the speed, playback speeds up but play panel says it's increased speed by 167% but reads 00 bpm above it. In any event, I can't get it to play at the speed I want. I can't explain this to my orchestra members as they are very basic users, so this is important that I figure out a way to make this work. Clearly this is something that is a bug with the latest version. Is there a fix? a work around? if i change the tempo marking in the score, it is not having any effect on playback. This has never happened before until now. I have closed out of the program and reopened it. No effect. Are there other places in the program where tempo is able to be manipulated? Appreciate your help.
Regards, Gerri
