Quartet starting with solo voice

I am arranging a vocal quartet that starts with a solo voice for six measures before other voices come in. How can I make the voice solo appear without measures of rests in the other voice? The extra measures of rest make up half of the first page, and I want to conserve space (as well as paper and ink when I print).
