minims with beams (for want of a better description)
While browsing through some new music that I have aquired, I came across a measure with what appears to be two minims linked with three beams, similar to the demisemiquaver, although with shortened beams.
(See image)
I couldn't find anything on Google.
The score is in 2/4 time.
Composer, Bernard Herrmann.
Instrument stave - Violin.
Is such a thing possible in Musescore? or in any musical notation program for that matter.

Isn't that meant to be a tremolo
Yes, that's one way to notate a tremolo. The other way is the one MuseScore supports - see the Tremolo in the Handbook.
If you do wish to create the style of tremolo notation show above, you can do it manually by creating eighth notes (or whatever note type you need to get the desired number of beams) then right-clicking the note heads, selecting Note Properties, and setting the Note Head Type to "half". You;ll have to then manually adjust position, hide rests, and/or change actual duration of the measure, etc, to create the effect of this filling the measure.
