Backup from crash didn't save?

So MuseScore crashed earlier, but thankfully recovered my score as a seperate file. I just spent the last hour working on it, closed it, then reopened it to edit it again only to find no changes. There were no backup files besides a couple i used for my halftime plugin. Is there any way to recover this or did I just waste an hour of my life?
