selecting bottom/top not of notes in a staff

I say a demo of finale (or maybe it was Sebelius, i don't remember any more). He did something I thought was cool. He had a staff for piano which had triads in the left hand. I.e., chords spelled out as nodes in the staff. He had a bind key that let him select the top notes or bottom notes. This was useful for copying to other parts. For example, he copied the top note to the 1 violin and the bottom notes to the violas, etc.

Does anyone know how to do that in musescore?
