unwanted eighth dotted notes heard on down beat when it is played
I put in some eighth notes, but when the music was played the software rendered it as if they were dotted eighth notes on the down beats. Can somebody tell me why this is happening?

Look at menu item: Style / General / Score and under 'Swing Settings' click 'Off'.
Another possibility is that 'Swing' from the Text palette was added to the score.
