I'd like to be able to have a section be in swing rhythm then the next not without messing around with the playback settings.

I tried changing the text to say "Straight" but it kept playing back the section in swing form.

You still need to right click it and change the swing setting to off.

Not sure where in particular things aren't doing what you expect, but be sure you actually turn swing off. Right click the Swing text (that you have presumably changed to read "Straight"), go to System Text Properties, Swing Settings, make sure the checkbox remains checked (so the marking is not ignored) but the radio button is set to Off. Then it will work. If you have a specific place where you feel this isn't working in your score, please give up the measure number so we can see.

You attachment works just fine starting in measure 157. I turned swing back on there just to make sure I wasn't missing something and there is a distinct difference in the Clarinet rhythms with swing on and off starting in measure 165.

It may be useful to delete and rebuild parts.
