Going from 2 staves to 1
Hi there,
Thanks for your help, I'm not finding this in the manual...
I'm starting a transcription of violin and guitar so started with two linked staves. But I would like to switch to just guitar part way through. Is there a way to go from two staves to one?

Welcome.
Linked staves?
You could use copy and paste into a new score or add an instrument, copy and paste and then remove the unwanted instruments.
But I'm afraid I did not understand it well...
Could you attach here your score?

Sorry I'm just getting used to how this all works. Thanks for your help.
I want to transcribe a chorus of guitar and violin, and then switch to just the guitar (the violin drops out). So Hopefully switching from two staves to one.
I had originally started on the grand staff template. I just copied and pasted it all into a guitar and violin staff instead. I will try hiding the violin...I still have to do the guitar transcription so I can't try it yet.
Thanks! Score as it stands is attached.

There's no linked staves, just 2 instruments with one staff each.
Either use "Hide empty staves", see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#style-edit-gene… or instrument change, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/mid-staff-instrument-changes

As Mike says: Style-> General / Score
If you have a violin and guitar I don't think you have linked staves or you would not have asked this question. You probably have two instruments in the score and want the violin to be invisible part way through the score. Once you are done entering all of the violin music, use the Style->General menu and check "Hide empty staves." This will leave only the lines of violin music with notes on them visible.
