Unwanted rest

Hi,

Somehow I have caused a quarter rest to be added at the beginning of a verse which has shifted the entire remaining score askew by one beat. Is there a way to remove the rest and make the remaining measures correct again. I have attached 2 images. One shows the incorrect measures with the rest at the beginning and the second image shows how it should look. I hope I've explained this clearly. Thank you.

Select everything from beat 2 onwards.
Cut.
Click on beat 1.
Paste.

You'll still have to manually 'correct' the notes that had become tied back to their complete duration if you so wish.
