You might also consider switching to the Common or Full styles, which show the actual note the tie connects to. Otherwise people can't really understand the rhythm.
In my understanding, you probably use a standard staff + a Tab staff Simple type

And you get:
It's true that in their major part, the published scores for guitar (in this very common configuration: standard staff + Tab "simple") do not display at all the ties in the Tab.
So, yes, the path of invisibility is the one to follow. To save time: right-click on a tie in the Tab -> select -> all similar elements in same staff -> Press "V" or untick "visible" in Inspector.
Not necessary for the print, but if desired, complete by: View -> Untick: Show Invisible
