Playback issues

I have been successfully using a basic setting of in-built speakers to playback my score. I want to connect to my Bose bluetooth speakers and so have been into Preferences and added in Bose SL11 . This is paired with my computer and it plays back perfectly outside of Musescore.

However, however, however, when I select this and reload Musescore the playback is silent.
I have tried going back to playing through built-in speakers however that also now has no sound.
When I open a new file from scratch there is also no sound

Have checked the Play Panel and the volume is set to middle range (so not turned way down).

Must be doing something really basic here but would appreciate any feedback!
