buggy SFZ soundfonts install
Hello everyone,
I am in trouble installing KaleidonKep99's Steinway soundfont, I copied/paste all the files related to the soundfount(.wav + .sfz) in the sound directory, selected it in the Zerberus but each time I drop a note on the score there is no sound.
Thanks in advance

Did you select the specific sound you want for each staff in View / Mixer?

Did you just upgrade to 2.2.1? See #270996: No sound on upgrade to 2.2 if default soundfont was saved as default

Could be then the soudnfont itself is either defective or uses some feature we don't support. Do other SFZ soundfonts work for you?

Yes, I have just tried to install Salamander piano soundfont and Kawai upright piano, they both work. So you are right the soundfont may not be supported by MuseScore.. that's too bad. Thank you!

some 'bad' characters in the .wav filenames and their referencing in the .sfz file maybe? Umlauts in a wrong encoding or unquoted spaces for example?
Hi...
I guess:
1. in this sfz: Multiple "master" and "group" definitions (with many opcodes) are problematic. Many opcodes need to be removed. (for Zerberus)
2. Zerberus currently doesn't support "cutoff," "pan" and some other opcodes. For this reason, you can't get full performance from this sound-font. But other than that, the original (raw) samples will sound very smooth.
I've added a condensed "sfz" file. (for Musescore2.x)
Put this file in the "Presets" folder. (Where original "1960 Steinway B-211.sfz" are located)
I hope that will be useful.

It would be very useful to extract a list of opcodes or constructs that Zerberus doesn't support and file issues for them.
For reference, here is the SFZ with the samples: https://github.com/KaleidonKep99/Steinway-B-211
