Color-Notes : may I change the colours, and my I set different colours on different octaves ?

Hello all musicophiles !

I am trombonist, and I am willing to learn piano with colours.

But I do not want to use the colours of the rainbow / boomwhackers scale, as implemented in the Color-notes plug-in.

I am actually using a different color scale, which particularity is also to display different colors for the same note of a higher octave : http://www.rainbowpianotechnique.com/freecopy/colorcode.pdf

It is the "smart colors" grid designed by Annie Wang-Hoffmann (watch her son, the 4-year old prodigy Richard Hoffmann playing the entertainer).
I find this grid very interesting, because you can distinguish easily close notes and different octaves.

So my questions are :
- Can I change the colours myself ? And how easy would it be? (I have basic skills in python and javascript)
- Can I set different colours for the same note, at different octaves ? Or do I have to implement that functionality and refactor the code for that?

Thanks in advance !

Sure is possible, take the existing color notes plugin and modify. Check the note names plugin for how to detect octaves (I believe it has code for this, commented out)
