Importing PDF glitches and corrections
When importing a PDF the measures at points do not divide correctly and I end up with light grey rests within a given measure that I do not know how to remove. The rests are basically beyond the time signature. For Instance I have a 4/4 time and there are notes within the measure that account for the 4 beats but then there are an additional two beats in the form of these light grey rests that essentially give me a time signature of 6/4 for that measure only. How do I get rid of these light grey rests?

Welcome aboard...
You should attach the MuseScore file (the .mscz file , not a .pdf), so we can see the 'grey rests' you mention.
Have you tried selecting and deleting them?
Regards.
FWIW: That PDF got produced by Finale
I guess that is the PDF that you sent to the import service? Better would be to post the MusicXML and/or MSCZ file you got back. But I can tell you already, PDF import is highly experimental and extremely error prone. Imagine, say, how good beta versions of Siri might have been at understanding speech. So it will be quite common for music to be imported with too many beats, extra voices not needed, etc. Often cleaning this up is more work than just re-entering the music. But for the record, if the import service created you have too many beats in a measure, right click it and use Measure Properties / Actual duration. If there are grayed out rests in voices other than 1, you can delete them, otherwise, leave them alone, or figure out how to rewrite the passage so there are notes in voice 1 instead of rests. Note the grayed out rests don't print; they are just there for editing purposes.
