MuseSore 2.3 takes a long time to start up if MDL extension is installed. Also causes instability
Hi. It takes a long time to start up if MDL extension is installed. It also causes instability and closes MuseScore. Corrupting the "ini" file. Checked in two computers. Windows 7.
Thank you very much.

Hi, what kind of corruption do you mean? Do you prevent running MuseScore somehow so it might lead to corruption somehow? Could you attach the corrupted .ini file?

Sorry. I just checked that a computer the problem is that it has little RAM (2G) and MDL then generates instability.
On the other computer after installing MDL extension this screen appears. Please watch video and image. Regards

You don't meet MDL requirements indeed. Check last paragraph here https://musescore.org/en/node/273636. I also had specific experience with 2Gb RAM machine, that's why I decided to avoid using MDL on that machine :)

2GB Ram is said to be the minimum requirement though

AFAIK, minimum means that the application will run, but no words about whether it will work normally :)

That is the minimum to get it to work, Not performing as good as it could, but working.
Whatever, IMHO 2GB is not enough even for Windows 7 or 10 alone, without running any other application

So in systems x86 (maximum 3 G) works in the "limits" MuseScore with Drumline ... Increasingly pressure to migrate to 64 Bits!

Could you please create separate issue in the tracker? (https://musescore.org/en/node/add/project_issue?pid=1236)
I didn't get the scenario. It looks like score appears right after clicking "File" menu item which is weird. Could you please Revert to Factory settings, check again. If it doesn't help, could you please download the latest installer from Downloading page and reinstall the application?

Thanks anatoly-os. When reinstalling MuseScore the problem was repeated. It was blocked in the initial screen. I did not try Revert to Factory settings, maybe it would have been solved ( thanks! ). I solved it by deleting the file "ini".

With MDL this may take ages indeed. 75 seconds on my i7 4 core + HT @2.8GHz, 8GB RAM. If you have MDL installed, remove it from the MuseScore2/Extensions directory.
Reinstalling won't do that, and I believe not even a reset to factory would, but I'm not sure on that
Edit: if removing the ini helped, a revert to factory would too, as that is part of the revert

Yes I also had to uninstall MDL. So you say the problem is not that my system has little RAM (3.4 G) ... What a bad thing because it is a good tool! Surely this problem can be solved. Please!

HUGE difference without MDL installed! Even with 8G ram 64 bit, it took AGES to load. I'll do without for now.

Indeed, the MDL soundfonts take a long time to load.
One thing you might consider if you do write for percussion "sometimes" is to install the extension then delete the soundfonts (and do a "Save as Default"). Now you can still have access to the templates, instruments, palettes, etc - playback just won't work correctly. If/when it becomes important, you can easily add the soundfonts back (just select them all at once in View / Synthesizer / Zerberus / Add).

I'll keep it in mind. Thank you.
